I grew up around the Pacific Ocean, where you couldn't go 5 minutes without seeing or hearing seagulls. Several years ago I moved to the midwest, and hadn't been able to spend time at a beach and hear the sounds that made me feel at home. While I still live in the midwest, I've moved to Chicago, and live right off of Lake Michigan, where I can see and hear the birds that remind me of home. Taking time to watch the gulls play on the shore of the lake has given me some time to feel at home despite being a thousand miles away from the Pacific. This gallery is dedicated to those birds that make me feel home away from home.
